  • Challenging Behavior

    • Often a mental health issue rather than a learning disability

    • Can happen alongside ADHD, Anger, Autism, Anxiety

    • Comes from a person’s thoughts, feelings, and emotions

    Examples:

    • Hitting or hurting themselves or others

    • Shouting or screaming

    • Throwing things

    • Getting very angry or frustrated

    Why it happens:

    • Unexpected changes may upset a person with Autism

    • Struggling with tasks can make someone frustrated or anxious

    • Behaviors may create safety risks

    • Makes it harder to make friends or get on with others

    Support:

    • See a doctor first

    • Mental health support, therapy, or counselling may help

    • Specialist organisations can provide guidance

  • Cerebral Palsy (CP)

    • Condition affecting movement, posture, and coordination

    • Caused by brain damage before, during, or shortly after birth

    • Support: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, mobility aids

  • Cystic Fibrosis (CF)

    • Genetic condition affecting lungs and digestion

    • Causes thick mucus, breathing problems, and digestive issues

    • Support: medication, physiotherapy, specialist care

  • Conduct Disorder

    • Behavioural condition causing aggression, rule-breaking, or defiance

    • Often appears in childhood or adolescence

    • Support: therapy, family support, school support

  • Crohn’s Disease

    • Long-term inflammatory bowel disease

    • Can cause stomach pain, diarrhoea, fatigue

    • Support: medical care, diet management, medication

  • Celiac Disease

    • Autoimmune disorder triggered by gluten

    • Can damage the small intestine and cause digestive problems

    • Support: strict gluten-free diet, medical monitoring
