Option 1: Use PowerPoint’s built-in shapes and icons

Option 1: Use PowerPoint’s built-in shapes and icons

  1. Open your PowerPoint file.

  2. Go to the Insert tab.

  3. Choose either:

    • Icons (look for books, people, speech bubbles, check marks, etc.)

    • Shapes (like circles, squares, arrows).

  4. Place the icon or shape near your text.

    • Example: a ✅ tick for “Tip”

    • A 👤 person for “Who uses Easy Read?”

    • A 📖 book for “What makes writing easy to read?”

  5. Use colours to make them stand out (blue, green, yellow).

🔹 Option 2: Add free Easy Read–style icons

There are free websites with simple, clear icons you can copy into your slides:

👉 Search for things like book, speech bubble, person, community, tick, pencil, eyes — these work really well for Easy Read slides.

🔹 Example Layout

  • Title: “👩‍🦽 Who uses Easy Read?”

  • Add a person icon next to the title.

  • Bullet points with simple text.

  • At the side, add a circle shape with a bright colour (symbol marker).

✨ Tip: Keep icons and images big and simple — not too detailed, and not too childish.
