🧠 Critical Thinking – Questions & Practice

 


🔹 What is Critical Thinking?

Critical thinking means:

  • Asking questions
  • Looking at information carefully
  • Being curious
  • Searching for the truth
  • Not taking everything at face value

🔹 Key Critical Thinking Questions

These questions help us think more deeply:

  • What if?
  • Who?
  • How?
  • What?
  • When?
  • Why?
  • What does one think?
  • When was it?
  • Why was it?
  • How was it?

👉 Questions can go on and on.


🔹 Asking Yourself Questions

Critical thinking also means asking yourself questions.

Example:

  • Why am I going to the library to get a psychology book?
    👉 To study
  • Why are you studying psychology?
    👉 To understand the mind
    👉 To learn new skills for work

🔹 Important Idea

  • Some questions will have clear answers
  • Some questions may have no answer yet
  • Some answers may change over time

👉 This is part of thinking deeply and learning


🔹 Activity 1 – Ask Your Own Questions

Think of something you are doing (school, work, or daily life).

Ask yourself:

  • What am I doing? __________________________
  • Why am I doing it? __________________________
  • How will it help me? __________________________
  • What if I didn’t do it? __________________________
