VERSION 1 – FULL STANDARD TEXT (Book / Training) 🧠 Mental Health Preface
Mental health is a
spectrum that ranges from well-being to illness. It affects how we think, feel,
and behave in our daily lives. Like physical health, mental health is not
fixed—it can change over time depending on our experiences, environment, and
support systems.
Everyone moves along
this spectrum at different points in their life. At times, we may feel strong
and resilient, while at other times we may feel overwhelmed or struggle to
cope. This is a normal part of being human.
It is important to
understand that mental health difficulties are common and are not a sign of
weakness or failure. Seeking help is a positive and responsible step toward
improving well-being.
Looking after mental
health involves proactive care, including good sleep, balanced nutrition,
physical activity, and maintaining social connections. Small daily actions can
make a significant difference.
Recognising early signs
of struggle is also important. These may include low mood, fatigue, withdrawal
from others, or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed.
Simple coping
strategies, such as grounding techniques like the 3–3–3 rule, can help manage
anxiety and stress in the moment.
If feelings become
overwhelming, persist over time, or begin to impact daily life, it is important
to seek support from a trusted person or professional.
It’s okay to say it’s
not okay.
Acknowledging how you
feel is the first step toward getting the help and support you deserve.
