Mental health conditions → serious problems with mood, thinking, or behaviour.

Advocacy

Advocacy means speaking up for yourself or others.

It is about defending rights and making sure voices are heard.
Types of advocacy:

Self-advocacy → speaking up for yourself.

Community advocacy → groups and organisations working together.

Legislative advocacy → working to change laws and policies.
Counseling

Counseling is talking with a trained helper (a counselor).

The aim is to:

Talk about problems

Find ways to cope

Build confidence and self-esteem

Counseling is usually for a short time.

Mentoring is when a mentor (experienced person) helps a mentee (less experienced person).

Coaching

Coaching helps people reach their personal or work goals.

A coach does not need to be an expert in your job.

A coach asks questions and helps you find your own answers.
