Men’s Health Month is in June.
-
Mental health is important every day for everyone.
-
Everyone matters the same – men, women, children, teenagers, people with or without disabilities.
-
Many men feel they have to “man up” and be strong, so they keep feelings inside.
-
Men’s Health Month encourages people to:
-
Go for checkups
-
Eat well and stay active
-
Talk openly about health and feelings
-
Take care of mental health
-
-
Men with disabilities may face barriers to support, isolation, or stigma.
-
Seeking help is a strength, not a weakness.
-
Stigma means judging someone unfairly for something like having anxiety or depression.
-
Men are more likely to be affected by suicide.
-
We should say “It’s okay to speak up” or “You matter” instead of “man up.”
