Living with a learning disability means navigating a world that often wasn’t built with me in mind. It’s not just about struggling with reading, writing, or memory—it’s about the constant effort to be understood, to be taken seriously, and to be seen beyond the label.
Everyday tasks can feel like uphill battles. Filling out forms, following fast-paced conversations, or even asking for help can be exhausting. And while I’ve developed strategies to cope, what I really need is understanding—not just from professionals, but from society as a whole.
This blog/ book is my space to share what it’s really like. I’m writing for those who work in disability and mental health, for educators, support workers, and anyone who wants to listen. I’ll talk about the barriers I face, the support that makes a difference, and the changes I hope to see.
Because being heard shouldn’t be a privilege—it should be a right.
Think of one person you know who might need support—and reach out.”
