Dyslexia – “I’m just bad at spelling”
or “I hate reading”
Sometimes people say things like “I’m
just bad at spelling” or “I hate reading.”
But often, there is more behind those words.
Many people who say they hate reading
may actually struggle to focus or understand what they are reading.
This can make them feel anxious, frustrated, or even embarrassed—especially if
someone asks them about their favourite books or interests.
Often, they only enjoy reading or
learning when the materials are in a clear and accessible layout that suits
their needs.
When the content is easy to follow, visually friendly, and matches their
interests, they can start to enjoy reading more.
